Kathi Tiefenthaler is an independent educational consultant with nearly 30 years of experience as a classroom teacher, interventionist, literacy specialist, state-level implementation specialist, and local, district, state, and national professional development provider. Her passion is in supporting administrators, teachers, and support staff in implementation of a continuous improvement cycle to improve teaching and learning by using data to inform instruction. Kathi’s collaborative style has shown how identifying goals and using a system for data-based decision-making can lead to stronger implementation of evidence-based strategies and practices. She is also a co-author of STRIVE’s Data System: A how-to on planning, teaching, and assessing reading groups book that supports schools and districts across the country in supporting all students with confidence.
