Melissa Geffre, M. Ed, is an educator with 16 years of experience as a district instructional coach, elementary classroom teacher, reading interventionist, literacy specialist, mentor teacher, and STRIVE consultant. She is committed to implementing practices grounded in the science of reading to ensure that all students become fluent readers. Building meaningful relationships with the people she works with is central to her practice and supporting teachers and instructional coaching are two of her passions. Melissa’s dedication is evident in her work of supporting schools to build strong and effective literacy systems that center around data-based decision making, multi-tiered instruction, collaboration, and research-based literacy practices. Melissa has led professional development for educators throughout the country to support them with implementing effective literacy instruction to reach all students. Melissa enjoys spending time with her family at Disney theme parks and cheering on her favorite sports teams.
